Grand Opening of the First Self-Service CNG Filling Station in Croatia

October 26, 2021: Croatia officially opened the first self-service CNG filling station for compressed natural gas. The value of the investment is HRK 3,700,000 without VAT, and Macel Plin d.o.o. was a contractor and supplier of mechanical works and equipment.

Compressed natural gas energy means significant financial savings, from 30 to 40%, compared to vehicles powered by gasoline and diesel engines. The newly built compressed natural gas filling station is located near important roads—the A3 motorway (Bregana—Zagreb—Lipovac) and the state road D5 (connecting Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Dalibor Bukvić, director of Brod-plin, presented the investment and its significance for Slavonski Brod at the opening. Krešimir Marijanović, project manager for the construction of a compressed natural gas filling station, explained the technological aspect of the station’s operation.

The Mayor of Slavonski Brod, Mirko Duspara officially opened the CNG filling station. He congratulated Brod-plin on the project, emphasizing that the new filling station will contribute to reducing air pollution in Slavonski Brod and encourage citizens to use more environmentally friendly energy sources.

The working hours of the CNG filling station are from 0 to 24 hours, and it is located at 7 Trešnjica Street. Since the filling station is fully automated and self-service, payment is only possible with bank cards.
