As part of our collaboration with Kamgrad, Macel Plin d.o.o. is currently executing essential works on constructing a gas bypass in Zabok, which is necessary to support the development of a new residential building.
Gas bypassing involves moving an existing pipeline from its current location to a new site.
Reasons for relocation may include the need to construct or reconstruct infrastructure at the original location, build new buildings, or alter the route due to urbanization or environmental requirements. In this situation, the bypass gas pipeline involves relocating the existing pipeline that ran under the building’s foundation to a new route. The goal is to adapt and integrate the residential building under construction in Zabok into the existing gas system.
The bypass pipeline, spanning 140 meters and with a DN300 pipe diameter, will be integrated into the existing gas system, enhancing its usability within the broader network. This includes adapting connection joints and ensuring specific technical operations to secure a safe and functional link between sections made of HDPE and steel.
The project, begun amid extreme summer temperatures, is scheduled for completion in the coming days. It entails pipeline installation, pressure testing, and final connections. The pressure test is performed by introducing nitrogen into the pipes and then measuring for any leaks to verify the quality of the welded joints. The 12-hour procedure is planned to connect to the existing gas pipeline of the distributor Zagorski Metalac’s transport system.
Project team leaders Grigor Stepanić and Darko Grbavac emphasize the importance of adhering to contractual obligations and timelines despite challenging weather conditions.
“Our team is committed to achieving all project phases within set timeframes,” Darko Grbavac highlighted.
“Maintaining exceptional work quality, including welding, laying, and preparatory tasks before connections, remains uncompromised, even under extreme temperatures,” added Grigor Stepanić.
The project team emphasizes transparent communication with local communities to minimize disruptions during executions.
The new gas pipeline infrastructure, a significant contribution to Zabok’s development, will ensure gas system stability for future residents of the new building, enhancing the local community’s quality of life.
After completing these critical works, the new pipeline is expected to provide reliable and efficient gas distribution for the new residential units. Kamgrad and Macel Plin d.o.o. are jointly committed to upholding high safety and quality standards throughout every project phase, strictly complying with gas industry regulations and norms. This commitment is unwavering and remains at the forefront of our operations.
